Alexandria via Frankurt

I am currently sitting in front of a currency exchange booth in Frankfurt airport, waiting to board my flight to Alexandria. The last few days have been kind of hectic, with lots of bad weather in D.C. and also here in Germany. D.C. was fun, and we had a 10 hour layover in Frankfurt so we got a chance to walk around the city. Everything is so expensive here, apparently Berlin is supposed to be cheaper. Anyway, it’s like a 4 or 5 hour flight to Alexandria from Frankfurt, and I should be arriving in Egypt at 2am their time. One of the head guys at American Councils gave us a breakdown of how many hours on average it takes to attain a level 3 in a language, and told us that Arabic required 2700 hours. Mandarin was about the same, while German takes about half, and French and Spanish take a third. Makes me want to go and dominate those other languages now that I’ve delved into Arabic so much. We took the train from the airport in Frankfurt to the main city, and kind of walked around looking at the different shops and restaurants. Anyway, I wrote this in the Frankfurt airport where there was no free wireless, so I just loaded it up in my dorm in Alexandria.
